Skillfi is seeking an experienced Snowflake Database Administrator to join our dynamic team of data professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of Snowflake environments, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability for our clients' data workloads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain Snowflake data warehouses in alignment with best practices and business requirements.
  • Monitor and optimize query performance, storage utilization, and compute resources to ensure cost‑effective operations.
  • Implement and enforce security policies, including role‑based access control, data masking, and encryption standards.
  • Develop and maintain automated ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake Snowpipe, Streams, and Tasks.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and architects to support data modeling, schema design, and data governance initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis, and provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of architecture, processes, and operational procedures, and conduct knowledge‑transfer sessions for stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience administering Snowflake environments in enterprise settings.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL, SnowSQL, and Snowflake-specific features such as Virtual Warehouses, Cloning, and Time Travel.
  • Experience with data integration tools (e.g., dbt, Matillion, Talend) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data security, compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and disaster‑recovery strategies.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities, communication skills, and the capacity to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams.
