The HRIS Data Governance Consultant will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of data governance frameworks across Skillfi’s Human Resources Information Systems. This senior-level role (Level 7) requires strategic oversight to ensure data integrity, compliance, and optimal utilization of HR analytics for informed decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce comprehensive data governance policies, standards, and procedures for all HRIS platforms.
  • Conduct data quality assessments, identify gaps, and implement remediation plans to maintain high‑quality HR data.
  • Collaborate with HR, IT, and compliance teams to align data governance initiatives with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, and local labor laws.
  • Design and deliver training programs to promote data stewardship and best practices among HR stakeholders.
  • Lead data lineage mapping, metadata management, and master data management activities to ensure accurate and consistent data across systems.
  • Provide expert guidance on data security, access controls, and audit trails to safeguard sensitive employee information.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for data governance, produce regular reports, and recommend continuous improvement strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in HRIS data governance, data management, or related fields, preferably within large, complex organizations.
  • Proven expertise with major HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM) and data integration tools.
  • Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations, data quality frameworks, and master data management concepts.
  • Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of influencing senior leadership.
  • Relevant certifications such as CDMP, DAMA, or HRIS-specific credentials are highly desirable.
